Description

Nestled on the second row in the quiet Village of Stump Sound community, this dog-friendly beach cottage will be sure to please. With both sound and ocean views throughout, The Great Escape #142, a Landmark Vacation Rentals home, has 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and accommodates 12 guests. (Dogs are allowed for an additional fee of $300 per dog, two dogs max) The Great Escape #142 offers a lot of natural light, expansive decks with great ocean views and tons of seating, vaulted ceilings, and bamboo floors. Soak in the peaceful ocean views and coastal breezes from one of the home’s many outdoor spaces. There are multiple decks that feature plenty of space to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean or curl up with a good book. This private neighborhood offers a swimming pool, tennis courts, and boat launch on the sound side to launch kayaks and paddle boards. Guests can access the beach via the community beach access located right beside this home!

The living area features a seamless open floor plan that allows easy flow from the living area to the kitchen and dining space. The living area features a comfortable leather sofa, two reclining chairs, a TV and large windows perfectly framing North Topsail Beach. Meal preparation is a breeze in the home’s fully stocked kitchen. There are bar stool seats for three and a dining table has seating for six as well as a picnic table on the oceanfront deck with seating for six. The primary suite boasts a king-sized bed, access to a private oceanfront deck, and a TV. The master ensuite has a double-sink vanity, soaking tub and walk-in shower.

The top floor has an open loft seating area with with a queen sleeper sofa. There are two additional bedrooms on this floor, one features a king-sized bed, a twin-sized bed, and a twin over twin bunk with private deck access, and smart TV. There is a hall bathroom located off this bedroom with tub/shower combo. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, a twin-sized bed, smart TV, deck access and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower.

The left side garage contains a ping-pong table available for guests for some friendly competition! Two to three vehicles (depending on size) can fit in the driveway. High speed internet and four Smart TVs are available throughout the home.

The Great Escape #142 is a short drive from Surf City and Topsail Beach, where there are many restaurants, shopping, minigolf, and museums to enjoy.

There is a keyless entry lock on both the lower level and main floor entrance doors. Guests are assigned a personal entrance code for the duration of their stay. Guests will be emailed their door code prior to their check-in.

Provided With Your Stay: Freshly laundered Quilts, Sheets, Bath Towels, Hand Towels, Washcloths, Bath Mats, and Kitchen Linens are provided. Beds will be made upon your arrival. Please note, top bunks will not be made. A First Night Amenity Kit which includes: Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Trash Bags and More will be waiting for you! Professional cleaning service is provided after every guest stay.

We had a great stay here! The walk to the beach was very short, making carrying things back and forth pretty easy. The house was very clean, and a short distance from restaurants and stores. The only things I would mention are that some bedroom windows have no curtains, so bring your sleep masks! We also felt a little on display at night due to no curtains on the downstairs windows as well. There was also no filtered water from the refrigerator, so be sure to bring your own drinking water. Overall these are minor issues and we'd definitely stay again!

The house was great but there were a couple of concerns. The deck wicker couch legs had rusted in to and collapsed. Probably needs to be discarded. The left side garage door wasn't working and had to be lifted manually. The white chairs stacked on the deck caused skin irritation (fiber glass?) recommend not using in the future. Recommend getting rid of the non working T.V. controllers, took quite awhile for us to figure out which was which.
Other than that, really really nice would like to try again next year! Thanks . . .
